Bono and Ali Hewson's EDUN Clothing

EDUN Clothing

Bono of U2 and his wife, Ali Hewson, have helped to launch a new company founded on the premise that fair trade shopping will help build sustainable communities in troubled areas of the world. Rather than giving aid to Africa, EDUN Clothing is encouraging production in these areas, helping to build the skill sets of the factories in these areas while paying fair living wages to workers who would normally be forced to work in sweatshops. Like conscious designer Linda Loudermilk, EDUN produces fashion-forward items in a fair trade context. The textiles are produced in India, Peru, Tunisia, Kenya, Uganda, Lesotho, Mauritius and Madagascar.

Not only does the company produce quality clothing items, it also encourages the fashion community to invest in Africa and other troubled regions. Eco Citizen Boutique is proud to carry items from EDUN Clothing.
